I'm Sarah Tymochko. I am a postdoc at UCLA in the Department of Mathematics. In 2022, I earned my Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics, Science, and Engineering from Michigan State University. During graduate school, I was also an intern at Pacific Northwest National Lab in the data science group. I received my B.A. in Mathematics from College of the Holy Cross.
Currently, my research focuses on applied mathematics, including topological data analysis and dynamics on networks, with applications to social and biological systems.
Outside of math, I enjoy spending time with my pandemic puppy, Bella (see picture!), watching Netflix, knitting, wheel throwing, and listening to Taylor Swift (yes, I'm a Swiftie). I also love traveling and I have a goal to visit all 50 states and at least 6 continents—I’ve made it to 37 states and 3 continents so far.
